Alice Lichtenstein, DSc

Alice H. Lichtenstein, DSc, is a Senior Scientist and leader of the Cardiovascular Nutrition Team at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University.

She also holds the Stanley N. Gershoff Professorship at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.

Dr. Lichtenstein’s work focuses on the relationship between diet and heart health, particularly in older adults, and her research has significantly influenced contemporary dietary guidelines and public health recommendations.

Dr. Lichtenstein earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a master’s degree from Penn State, and both master’s and doctoral degrees from Harvard University, focusing on lipoprotein metabolism.
